What Should I know about Junk Car Selling?

What if I still owe money on my car?

Unfortunately we cannot purchase your vehicle if you still owe money on it. When you do pay the vehicle off you will receive a lien release from the financing company that will need to be attached to the title for us to purchase it. If there are old liens on your title you that have been paid off in the past, but you have lost the lien release you will need to go to your finance company and have them reprint this documentation.

My Vehicle has new parts – does that increase the value?

Typically, newer parts will not increase the amount we can offer you, simply because we are look at it for its scrap value, rather than the parts value. If the parts are valuable and the vehicle still runs, we recommend you try to sell it as a used vehicle to maximize your return.

Do I need to be with the vehicle at pickup time?

We prefer that the owner be with the vehicle, but we know that this is not always possible, so we are still able to pickup vehicles if all the necessary documentation is left with another individual. Please make sure that you let us know if this is going to be the case.

How do you determine the value of my car?

The value of each car is based on the year, make, and model. The more information you give us such as mileage and if there is any damage to the vehicle help us come up the highest most accurate price possible.

What happens to my car after you buy it?

We salvage every vehicle we purchase. The process consists of draining all of the fluids, removing all electrical components, and refurbishing any still serviceable parts. Once everything is removed from the vehicle, the remainder is crushed for scrap metal.

Do you sell car parts?

At this time, we do not sell or supply parts for vehicles.

What if I don’t have my registration?

If we need a copy of your registration to legally pick the vehicle up then one can easily be obtained from your states motor vehicle department website. Rules vary from state to state, it is best to call or email us to make sure that we can proceed with the vehicle pickup if no registration is available.

What if I don’t have my keys?

Having your keys makes removing the vehicle easier. That being said, if your vehicle is going to be recycled than it shouldn't be an issue.

What paperwork do I need?

Your driver’s license, most recent registration, the vehicle title.

Can I junk my car without the title?

It depends on where the car is located. Some states absolutely require a title in order for a vehicle to change hands. In areas where you don’t need a title, all we need is a copy of a drivers license or other form of valid id and a copy of the registration, current or expired that matches the form of identification. Please inform of us as soon as possible if this is the case.

A basic rule of thumb to determine if you need a title or not is as follows: You do not need a title if you own the vehicle, the vehicle is 10 years or older, and if you have a registration in your name.
